Kubrat Pulev to fight Mahmoud Charr for WBA 'regular' heavyweight title

Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev will fight Germany's Mahmoud Charr - until recently known as Manuel Charr - for the World Boxing Association (WBA) 'regular' heavyweight title. His opponent will be defending the champion's belt, which is of lesser value than the WBA title held by Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk since September 2021.

Thirty-nine-year-old Charr's boxing record currently stands at 34-4, which includes a heavyweight world title win. Kubrat Pulev, on the other hand, is 42 years old and has 30 wins from 33 fights in his career.

The fight is expected to take place in the capital's Arena Sofia in March this year.
