Temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees extended until March 2025

Temporary protection for Ukrainians currently living in Bulgaria will be extended by one year with effect from March 4, the government has decided. The measure is in line with the European Commission's decision to extend the Temporary Protection Directive. The Programme for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine Granted Temporary Protection in the Republic of Bulgaria, adopted in 2022, has also been extended until April 30 this year.
