Bulgarian armored personnel carriers are on their way to Ukraine

"The operation is underway - the Ministry of Defence is supporting the process of providing Ukraine with the armoured personnel carriers (APCs) of the Bulgaria Ministry of Interior." With this short post on Facebook, the Minister of Defence Todor Tagarev informed that the armored transport equipment, which Bulgaria decided to send to Ukraine, will very soon be delivered.

At the end of 2023, the National Assembly overruled President Rumen Radev's veto on the free provision of APCs to Ukraine and decided to donate 100 machines from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' arsenal to the country that were no longer needed. According to the minister, the Ukrainian army cannot launch an attack with this technique, but it would serve them under certain conditions.

“These are wheeled machines and cannot be used in snow - snowplows have to go through to clear the road. To protect the border, high-terrain equipment is needed", explained Todor Tagarev at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense at the end of this year.
