The festival and congress center in Bulgaria's coastal city Varna is hosting the 9th edition of the Master of Art Film Festival from February 10 to 25, BTA reported. Among the titles on the playbill are Giovanni Troilo's Italian film Borromini and Bernini. The Challenge for Perfection, the Spanish production of Goya, Carriere and the Ghost of Bunuel directed by José Luis López-Linares.

Varna viewers will be able to see the largest ever Vermeer exhibition, which opened the spring of 2023 at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, as well as Benoit Félici's interpretation of the processes after the publication of Anthony Burgess's novel A Clockwork Orange and the making of Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film of the same name.

Fans of Exupéry will rediscover The Little Prince in Vincent Nguyen's film, which mixes archival footage, photography and animation.

Among the Bulgarian titles are "Gala in Sofia", following rehearsals, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with singers Sonia Yoncheva and Plácido Domingo during their joint concert in Bulgaria in 2021.

On February 22 will be the premiere in Varna of the production "Kaval Park" by Bogdan Darev, based on Vasil Denev's idea and carried out with the support of American fans of Bulgarian folklore and Bulgarians in the USA.

The film was shot in the course of three years starting in 2016 on location in Plovdiv, Kameno, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Chicago. It tells the story of the virtuoso musician Alexander Eppler, an American of Russian origin, who is in love with Bulgarian folk music.
