Gabriela Georgieva advances to 100m backstroke semi-finals in Qatar

Bulgaria's Gabriela Georgieva has qualified for the semi-finals of the 100m backstroke at the 2024 Aquatics World Championships in Doha, Qatar. The 26-year-old finished 15th with a personal best of 1:01.65. This is the first time in her career that she has reached the semi-finals of the 100m backstroke at a World Championships. She will swim in the second semi-final this evening.

The fastest in the 100m backstroke was American Claire Curzan with 59.72 seconds.

The other two Bulgarians in this morning's heats, Kaloyan Levterov and Yordan Yanchev, were eliminated.
