Bulgarians in Chicago will commemorate Vasil Levski with various events

For yet another year, Bulgarians living in Chicago will pay tribute and bow their heads before the feat and work of Bulgaria's national hero Vasil Levski on the 151st anniversary of his heroic death.

On February 18, at 12:00 p.m. local time, wreaths and flowers will be placed at the Levski memorial bust in Chicago in front of St. Ivan Rilski Church, located at 5944 W Cullom Ave, Chicago, IL 60634.

The commemoration of the 151st anniversary of the death of the Apostle of Bulgarian freedom will continue at 2:00 pm with a memorial service at the Bulgarian Orthodox Church of St. Sophia at 404 West Oakton Street, Des Plaines, IL 60018.

At 5 pm on the same day, an Evening dedicated to Vasil Levski with speaker Kamelia Popova is scheduled at the Bulgarika Cultural Center at 1120 S. Elmhurst Rd, Mount Prospect, IL, United States, Illinois.

"Friends, let's not forget that the battle to preserve our past is a battle for our future! Let's honor our national hero together!" write in their invitation to our compatriots in Chicago the organizers from the historical circle "Rodolyubie" at the cultural center "Bulgarica".
