Rumen Radev calls for an autonomous European decision on Ukraine

“The call should be – especially to all European countries – to look for an autonomous European solution, to seek dialogue, to seek all mechanisms for putting an immediate end to the warfare, and sit down at the negotiating table,” President Rumen Radev told reporters.  

In a comment on the second year since the start of the war in Ukraine, the president was adamant that seeking a military solution, based on victory on the battlefield, is not yielding results. “Quite the opposite, the result is hundreds of thousands of human lives and devastation,” he said.

Rumen Radev also commented on the relationship among the political parties supporting the government as the rotation of prime ministers approaches. “It is amazing to see the speed and the ease with which the leaders from the “non-coalition” make the shift from legitimizing and doting on one another, and denouncing one another. This shows that the so-called Euro-Atlantic non-coalition is functioning outside of all Euro-Atlantic values, the only thing holding it together are – interests,” he said.

It is important that the scandals do not deflect attention from what matters most – shedding light on the undue influence exerted on the judiciary, and all secret magistrate clubs, the president said further. Otherwise we will have captured institutions in future, and will continue to sink deeper into lawlessness and hopelessness.
