2-in-1 early parliamentary elections could destabilize the country and provoke protest voting with unpredictable consequences. This is the message sent to the delegates at the national conference of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) by its honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan.

In his address, Ahmed Dogan focuses on three main topics: possible changes within NATO, the problem of the security of Europe and the idea of having two co-chairmen of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. In his words, having co-chairmen of the party is, by definition, the counterpoint of one-person decisions. Ahmed Dogan is proposing that the MRF have two MPs as chairmen – Delyan Peevski, who is sanctioned under the Magnitsky Act, and Dzhevdet Chakarov.

“For the Movement for Rights and Freedoms the upcoming election for European Parliament will be a test of reform and readiness to participate in the political life of Bulgaria and of the European Parliament,” Ahmed Dogan points out, and assigns the MRF the task of expanding its periphery, and demonstrating the weight the party carries “against the backdrop of the misunderstandings in governance and the rotation”.

Ahmed Dogan also lays emphasis on the ongoing commitment to the voters so the MRF will not turn into a paid boutique party.
