''Bulgaria is ready to host an Aquaba Process summit'', Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel said after a meeting with Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi in Amman.

The Aqaba Process initiative was launched in 2015 by King Abdullah II of Jordan. It comprises a series of international meetings aimed at strengthening international and regional cooperation against terrorism, radicalization and extremism.

''Jordan has proven to be a regional peacekeeper. We commend the efforts of Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah II for peace and stability in the Middle East. Access to humanitarian aid and the protection of all civilians should be a priority", said Mariya Gabriel, who was received in audience by King Abdullah II. During her meetings in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mariya Gabriel discussed ways to deepen cooperation in the fields of information and communication technologies, economy, energy, trade, and tourism.
