Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov and Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev will today inaugurate the State Laboratory for Pesticide Testing at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the border with Turkey.

The capacity of the laboratory will ensure official control of imports of fresh fruit and vegetables from third countries, in particular from Turkey to the EU, without unnecessary delays. The investment is worth BGN 2 million (more than EUR 1 million) and will be financed from the state budget.

Previously, samples were tested at a state laboratory in Sofia, causing delays in the process.
