On the eve of Bulgaria’s national day, the acapella formation Spectrum Vocal Band will have a concert in Luxembourg. The invitation for the concert came from the cultural club Gaida (bagpipe), known as a workshop for events and Bulgarian culture for friends from far and wide.

Here is more from Konstantin Beykov, one of the five members of Spectrum, who spoke to Radio Bulgaria:

“Luxembourg is a place where the Bulgarian community is exceedingly active. And it is at the invitation of the cultural club Gaida that we, from Spectrum, will be having a concert on 2 March, on the eve of our national day. The programme we shall present is mostly Bulgarian music, folklore arrangements, as well as Bulgarian popular music. We are very excited – this will be our first encounter with these people, but we have been looking forward to it for a long time, and I am sure it is not going to be the last. We are very glad, and we are looking forward to the concert by Spectrum in Luxembourg – on 2 March!”

By express request of the Bulgarian community in Luxembourg, the musicians have included in the concert programme an all-time favourite - the song High by the FSB. The arrangement is by Yanko Yankov, Konstantin Beykov and Atanas Kulinski, specifically for the vocal quintet. The band recorded a “virtual choir” – their co-workers, friends and fans from all over Bulgaria.
