Preliminary NSI data put GDP growth at 1.8 per cent in 2023

Agriculture's relative share declines, while the industrial sector strengthens

Bulgaria's gross domestic product grew by 1.8 per cent to BGN 183.7 billion (EUR 93.9 billion) last year, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute. One person accounts for BGN 28 516 (EUR 14 580) of the total. According to the data, the gross value added amounts to 161.1 billion levs - 0.8% more than in 2022.

The relative share of agriculture in the value added of the economy was 3.5% last year - 0.9% less than in the previous year. The industrial sector accounted for 28.9% of the economy's value added, an increase of 0.3%. The services sector, on the other hand, grew from 67% to 67.6%.
