''The ruling parties had nine months in which they distributed both power and resources and soldered the assemblage. Any demonstrations of muscle, sudden outbursts of opposition are not met with approval by the people’’, President Rumen Radev told journalists regarding the talks between GERB-SDS and We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria on a joint future government.

Bulgaria’s head of state said it was not clear when he would hand over the first exploratory mandate for forming a cabinet, but he hoped that the future consultations with the political forces would bring more clarity.

"I expect the government, regardless of the outcome of the negotiations, to guarantee the security of Bulgarian citizens", President Radev said when asked to comment on the recent cases of violence between Bulgarians and foreigners. ‘’ "It is unacceptable for the government not to be able to guarantee the security of Bulgarian citizens in the centre of Sofia. What can we imagine for the rest of the country’’, Rumen Radev went on to say.
