Ex-regional minister expects 60 km of highways to be built in 2024

The main priority is to make progress on the construction of the highway network, the resigned regional minister Andrey Tsekov told bTV. The priority is the western transport axis connecting Vidin with the Greek border at the Kulata border checkpoint, the minister emphasized. 

Two major highways are in priority - the highway between Vidin and Botevgrad and the last section of the Struma highway. The work on the Hemus highway is also being resumed. 

Another priority is investments in municipal projects, Tsekov explained. In order for these investments to reach people and improve their lives, we need to conclude agreements with all municipalities as quickly as possible. We have submitted 900 applications for project financing, we have processed 90%, for 2 billion euros in the next 3 years, he assured. 

The main investments are in municipal roads, street network, water projects and sewerage.
