Enthusiasts behind the digital project "Bulgaria in the Palm of Your Hand" are showcasing the country's architectural heritage with a twist. Their recent video release highlights iconic structures from Bulgaria's socialist era.

According to them, the buildings constructed during this period have undoubtedly influenced several generations of Bulgarians. Recently, the creative collective released a curious video clip on social media of some of the most iconic structures from the socialist regime, titled "The Brutalistic tour of Bulgaria".

"We want to show you how sometimes seemingly controversial architectural heritage can be a magnet for tourists from all over the world. That's why we've prepared this video tour.” Why brutalistic? “Because the monuments you'll see are built in this exact architectural style - Brutalism. And because for architecture lovers they are brutally cool!" - says the comment to the video.

This style is far from being typical only for Bulgaria or Eastern Europe, but in Bulgaria we have some of the most interesting sites that are still preserved and enjoy tens, even hundreds of thousands of visitors, say the creators of the video.
