A protest against renewable energy sources was held in central Varna. The discontent was caused by the attempt of the Center for the Study of Democracy to put the draft law on renewable energy sources in marine areas on the agenda again with a round table, which was subsequently canceled.
"We strongly oppose the construction of offshore wind farms in the Black Sea. We have expressed our motives on numerous occasions", said Emil Milev, chairman of Chernomorski Izgrev Association. "The round table, which was due to be held at a hotel in Varna, will be online", Emil Milev told journalists during the protest and added: "There will be no fishing left in the Black Sea, there will be no tourism left for us, and there will be no restaurant industry left in Bulgaria."
