I can apologize if Mariya Gabriel felt personally offended. What she did as a candidate for prime minister is unacceptable, said outgoing Minister of Finance and We continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria Co-chairman Assen Vassilev in response to Mariya Gabriel’s request for an apology. According to him, it would have been fair if Mariya Gabriel had specified that the composition of the draft cabinet had not been coordinated with PP-DB when presenting it to President Rumen Radev.

During the press-conference of We continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria on March 19, Vassilev described Gabriel as "the newest and most beautiful face of the mafia in Bulgaria".
