A government on a mandate of We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) is not possible. GERB is not backing down from nominating Maryia Gabriel’s for prime minister, and are giving PP/DB one more day for reflection, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told reporters in parliament.

“They do not want a government, they still think it is going to work out on the second mandate. The party is adamant that is not going to happen,” Boyko Borissov said.

In recent weeks the Bulgarian people witnessed a total collapse of statehood thanks to the disgraceful attempts at a new “marriage of convenience” between GERB/SDS and PP/DB, reads a declaration by MP Iskra Mihaylova on behalf of Vazrazhdane. The two formations have constantly been “lying in wait” and “backstabbing” each other, while at the same time conducting negotiations for governing together for a while longer, the declaration goes. Vazrazhdane has called for early elections.
