The consultations held by President Rumen Radev in connection with the procedure for designating a caretaker prime minister are over. Last on the list were the Vice Presidents of the National Audit Office Goritsa Grancharova–Kozhareva and Toshko Todorov. As he was leaving the presidency, Toshko Todorov stated that there are people better prepared for the post and described the fact that their positions are on the limited list of persons the Bulgarian president can choose from for the position of caretaker prime minister as “a misunderstanding”.

“We are not the people best prepared for this position,” Toshko Todorov said and added that there are many people in the country who deserve this position. “We do not believe - Mrs. Grancharova or myself- and I am talking on her behalf as well, that we are the most suitable people.”
