Gas price to be announced on April 1

The proposal by Bulgaria's largest natural gas distribution company Bulgargaz to increase the price of natural gas by just over 2% in April is to be announced later today.

In contrast to March, when the price of the blue fuel fell significantly, the gas company estimates that prices could rise slightly in April. Next month, the country's needs will be met by a long-term contract with Azerbaijan, imports of liquefied natural gas and the Chiren gas storage facility.

Bulgargaz's proposal has been discussed by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR), which is expected to announce its decision today, April 1.
