The outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel met with the ambassadors in Bulgaria at a farewell meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She outlined in detail the results achieved in the past 10 months in foreign policy and thanked the heads of diplomatic missions for the fruitful joint work.

"Unity, mutual respect, pragmatic cooperation and proactive actions were guiding principles in my work," Gabriel said. She pointed out that she worked actively to establish Bulgaria as a recognizable, proactive and reliable partner in the EU and NATO, for Bulgaria's entry into Schengen and for joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

"The path to Bulgaria's European future goes through the fight against corruption, as corruption in Bulgaria is connected to Russia." This was what the outgoing Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said at a meeting with the ambassadors of the EU countries, UK, Ukraine and the United States. Denkov also informed the ambassadors about the case involving the chief secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Zhivko Kotsev.
