The main priorities of the caretaker cabinet in the financial policy will be Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone and the stability of public finances, caretaker Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova said at a briefing. It also became clear that Georgi Dimov is the new director of the National Customs Agency, replacing Petya Bankova, who is currently under investigation. Rumen Spetsov will continue to head the National Revenue Agency.

Minister Petkova stated that according to a check based on data from the Bulgarian National Bank, the fiscal reserve stands at 6.7 billion BGN (EUR 3.4 billion) as of April 8. According to information presented earlier by former Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, the fiscal reserve stood at 9.9 billion BGN (EUR 5 billion) as of March 29.

Of the money in the fiscal reserve, 4 billion BGN / EUR 2 billion/ is the Silver Fund (The State Fund for Guaranteeing the Stability of the State Pension System), and 2 billion BGN /EUR 1 billion/ are revenues for future periods, including the expected proceeds from the second tranche of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, Minister Petkova said.
