An emergency epidemic situation will not be introduced in the country due to the spread of pertussis (whooping cough), as this is not necessary. This was announced by the chief state health inspector, Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev.
500 cases of whooping cough have already been registered in the country. According to Associate Professor Kunchev, no extraordinary measures are required and quarantine will be introduced only in some kindergartens and schools that will switch to online training. At the moment, a peak of the disease cannot be predicted, as the spread of whooping cough is expected to subside by the end of the year, Prof. Kunchev told BNT.
