Survey: Almost half of Bulgarians sceptical about euro adoption

47% of Bulgarians disagree with the statement that Bulgaria's entry into the euro area will boost the Bulgarian economy and raise their living standards. This is the result of a national survey conducted by the Market Links agency between 27 April and 09 May among 1 007 people aged 18 and over. 

According to 39 per cent of respondents, joining the euro area will have a positive effect on the economy and incomes. 14% had no opinion. As far as joining Schengen is concerned, the majority of people (68%) think that it will be important and beneficial for Bulgaria. 11% are undecided and 21% disagree.
