Bulgaria does not accept statements and behavior contrary to both the 2017 Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, as well as to  other international agreements that North Macedonia has signed. President Rumen Radev stated this in his position, the press secretary of the head of state announced, on the occasion of the completed election campaign and the inauguration ceremony of the new president of North Macedonia.

Bulgaria has repeatedly and clearly stated that the agreements must be respected, Radev points out. He recalls that North Macedonia is a member of NATO, from which the corresponding duties and responsibilities arise. I am convinced that the European perspective of Skopje depends on the strict implementation of the international treaties to which it is a party, as well as on the EU-approved 2022 negotiating framework, which, for information of the responsible institutions in Skopje, will not be revised, the Bulgarian president adds.
