BNB: Deposits up to BGN 1,000 most common, number of millionaires growing

In March 2024, 1,518 people in Bulgaria had deposits of more than BGN 1 million, while in March 2023, 1,277 Bulgarians had such deposits, according to the latest BNB data. 

Deposits between BGN 200 thousand and BGN 500 thousand grew the most (102-255 thousand euro) - by 25.5 per cent, to 22 874. Savings up to BGN 1,000 (EUR 510.83) are the most numerous - 4.7 million deposits, but their number has decreased by 64,452 deposits, or -1.3%, compared to the previous year.

As of the end of March 2024, the total amount of deposits is dominated by those with a size between 50 thousand and 100 thousand BGN, with a share of 18.6%.
