Household electricity prices could go up by less than 30% as of 1 July, 2024, Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov announced at a briefing at the Ministry of Energy.

Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant has withdrawn the price proposal, and after recalculation, will propose a price rise smaller than 30%, Minister Malinov said. Bulgargaz is also proposing a smaller rise in the price of natural gas (8%) as of June than the 11% initially proposed. The proposal has been submitted to the energy regulator, said Bulgargaz CEO Veselin Sinabov. After holding a tender, in June Bulgaria will receive liquefied natural gas from the Turkish company Botas with a discount that will save the Bulgarian supplier 11.5 million Leva (EUR 5.88 million).
