International festival of brass bands fills Montana's central square with music 

Diko Ilev 2024 festival opens with children's exhibition

An exhibition of children's drawings will mark the beginning of the International Wind Band Festival "Diko Ilev 2024" in Montana. Seventy children from Europe, Asia and North America took part in the competition "Drum Beats, Horo Chain Wreaths" organized by the Municipality of Montana. The best artists will be awarded today, as well as the winners of the National Competition for New Works for Brass Band in two categories - "March" and "Horo Music".

The 18th edition of the festival will feature 18 bands from Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. The programme will be opened by the Representative Brass Band of the National Guard Unit.

"This will be a celebration of traditions - all the cheerleading groups, brass bands, all the best will be in Montana," said the city's mayor, Zlatko Zhivkov. 


The celebrations will take place from 31 May to 2 June in the town's Zheravitsa Square and are organised by the Montana Municipality under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
