The football teams of Bulgaria and Romania finished 0-0 in a friendly match played in front of 20,000 spectators at the Steaua Stadium in Bucharest. Goalkeeper Ivan Dyulgerov became a hero for the Bulgarian national team, as he saved a penalty at the beginning of the second half. The Bulgarian national team remains undefeated under the leadership of their new coach Ilian Iliev. Led by Iliev, the team has had 5 matches, of which 4 were ties. The Bulgarians played well against the hosts and had good opportunities to score a goal in the second half.

On June 7, the Romanian team will face Liechtenstein in a friendly game before leaving for Euro 2024. On June 8, the Bulgarian team will play against Slovenia, which also has a final test before leaving for the tournament in Germany.
