Collective demining operation in the Black Sea starts in July

The first operation by the demining group of ships from Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania in the Black Sea starts on 2 July, announced Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov who is attending the joint live fire exercises Shabla 2024. There will be three operations until the end of the year. The first will coincide with the naval exercise Breeze 2024, the second and the third activation of the group will be in September and in November. Admiral Eftimov commented that the exercises at Shabla training ground are part of a bigger NATO exercise – Ramstein Legacy 2024. In his words, allied forces from Slovenia have been deployed on Bulgarian territory, as well as representatives of the NATO coordination command centre. The procedures connected with all forces deployed in Southeastern Europe, including in Romania, are being practiced with them.
