Innerglow band was among the finalists in the 55th edition of the Bulgarian National Radio's contest for new Bulgarian pop and rock music Spring 2024 with their song "Osvoboden". The idea for the song emerged earlier, and realizing that it sounded fresh and danceable, Todor Kovachev, Petar Zhelev and Matey Hristoskov decided to release it at the beginning of the summer. This coincided with the "Spring" song contest and the piece premiered live at the concert accompanying the awards ceremony.
Unlike the usual songwriting process at Innerglow, this time the music and the lyrics came almost simultaneously and were in Bulgarian from the very beginning. And although this is only their third song in Bulgarian, everything happened quite naturally. The band’s frontman Todor Kovachev, who wrote the lyrics of the piece, has more:
''I came up with the idea for the song, but as it always happens with us, things then combined into a common creative energy. It somehow came naturally with the melody itself and perhaps with my mood at that time. It happened at the end of last summer. It's good that everyone in the band keeps that mood now and we still feel the song as something very new and fresh''.
This summer, Todor, Matey and Petar are to participate at music festivals. In the fall, they will record new songs, in which they promise a surprising collaboration.
