Bulgaria could join the euro area at the beginning of 2026. According to a study by the Non-Food Traders Association, this is the realistic period in which this country would be able to fulfill the criteria for the Eurozone.

According to the survey, 25% of respondents believe that the introduction of the euro can take place by July 1, 2025. Those who believe that this can happen at the beginning of 2025 are less than 15%.

According to 63% of those questioned, the most important factor for Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone is criteria such as the annual level of inflation and political stability.
