Ocean rower Stefan Ivanov is setting out on a voyage with a rowing boat across the Arctic Ocean, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

In 2023, he took part in another expedition, setting 8 Guinness records in the Southern Ocean, after crossing the Atlantic Ocean on board the Neverest, a boat he himself constructed together with his son Maxim. Stefan Ivanov’s new expedition includes a research project under the aegis of Explores Club Bulgaria, the first science research expedition under the flag of the world’s oldest science research club. Ivanov and his team are hoping to be the first to cross the entire Arctic Ocean by rowing boat. The start is from Southern Norway on 23 or 24 June, South of the 60th parallel, and the crew is hoping to reach the Northernmost point, North of the 80th parallel.
