Rumen Radev: The faithful need the unity of the church and leadership for the spiritual rise of the Bulgarian people

"The faithful need the unity of the church, the unity of Orthodoxy; they need leadership for the spiritual rise of the Bulgarian people", President Rumen Radev told journalists before the enthronement of the newly elected Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil in the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky. President Radev wished him health, longevity and prosperous days at the head of the Bulgarian Church.

Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, who also attended the enthronement of Patriarch Daniil, said: "Believers need a patriarch who will be a unifier, as was His Holiness Neophyte, God rest his soul''.''The state should not interfere in the church affairs", Dimitar Glavchev went on to say.
