For the second year in a row, Bulgaria will host the L'Etape by Tour de France event, which will take place near Velingrad in the Western Rhodopes.

On 28 July competitors are invited to take part in two distances - 102 and 57 kilometres, both of which include a tough climb to determine the King of the Mountain. The day before, on 27 July, there will be warm-up activities with two non-competitive starts - a family ride and a children's ride.

A Tour de France-style village will also be set up in Velingrad to bring the spirit of the world's biggest cycling race to Bulgaria.

So far 650 registraions for the 2nd edition of L'Etape Bulgaria by Tour de France have been received, which is 20% more than last year's edition. Registrations will also be accepted on the day of the distribution of race numbers, the organisers said.
