Kazanlak celebrates national heroes Vasil Levski and Hadzhi Dimitar

On the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the death of Hadzhi Dimitar and his company of Chetnik rebels, and the 187th anniversary of the birth of Vasil Levski, the Municipality of Kazanlak is holding several events. 

On 16 July, the Chudomir Museum of Art and Literature will host the travelling exhibition "Places of Memory (1873-1933)", the municipality announced on its official Facebook page. The exhibition is organised by the Institute of Historical Studies and the Central Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Vasil Levski National Museum in Karlovo. 

At the same event, the new publications "Vasil Levski. Documents" and "Vasil Levski", published by the Bulgarian Committee and the Cyril and Methodius National Library, will be presented. 

All the initiatives are organised by the Municipality of Kazanlak, the National Park-Museum "Shipka Buzludzha", the Historical Museum "Iskra" and the Regional Branch of the Traditional National Society "23rd Infantry Regiment - Kazanlak".
