PP-DB ask President Radev to delay the handing of the second cabinet-forming mandate

At a meeting with President Rumen Radev, We Continue the Change- Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) asked the country’s head of state to delay the handing of the second cabinet-forming mandate to allow them to seek broad public support for the proposed legislative changes to combat corruption, BTA reported. The proposal includes a package of legal solutions to tackle corruption and will be sent to every member of parliament.

"If we do not solve the problem of corruption, it will not matter who the prime minister is or who the ministers are", emphasized Nikolay Denkov during the meeting requested by PP-DB. ''That is why, we are proposing a declaration that outlines these crucial steps for which we will seek broad political support'', Nikolay Denkov went on to say.

For his part, President Rumen Radev pointed out that the ideas of PP-DB require a majority, and some even a qualified majority.

''This is yet another brutal attempt by PP-DB to defile the Constitution'', said the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Yordan Tsonev. ''Thank God the president brought them back to reality", Yordan Tsonev told journalists.
