Bulgarian Red Cross provides support to the people in fire-hit areas

In the settlements affected by the wildfires in Bulgaria, teams of the Bulgarian Red Cross are providing support to the affeced people BTA reports. Volunteers and employees of the Bulgarian Red Cross in Yambol are in the village of Voden. They are supporting the activities of the specialized teams of the Fire Safety and Population Protection Directorate, the representatives of the Ministry of Interior and the Forestry. 

Together with the Municipality of Bolyarovo, in the next three days the teams will provide food parcels and water in the village of Voden. A needs assessment of the residents will also be carried out in the affected municipalities and additional bottled mineral water will be distributed.


The Bulgarian Red Cross in Plovdiv, together with representatives of the mayoral authorities of the village of Otets Paisievo and the local population will provide water and food to the affected population and the specialised teams working on site. Needs assessments are also being carried out there and bottles of mineral water will be distributed to those in need, donated to the organisation.

The Bulgarian Red Cross is in constant communication and coordination with the local authorities, institutions and services working on the ground and stands ready, if necessary, to provide other essential materials from its disaster reserve.
