Vice-President Iliana Iotova hopes for third mandate government

Vice President Iliana Iotova voiced her hopes today that a government would be formed with a third mandate. She was in the coastal town of Sozopol to take part in a solemn ceremony at the monument to the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski, commemorating the 187th anniversary of his birth.

"I hope that reason will prevail in the parliamentary groups," Iotova said, stressing that in the current situation the country needed a functioning government. The vice-president pointed out that there would obviously be no government with the second mandate. The president will decide when and to whom the third mandate will be given, she added.
In Iotova's words, there are requests from several political forces that "offer a rather wide open fan for talks, negotiations" and "are ready to make certain compromises".
