Wildfire near border with Turkey expected to be contained on Saturday

The efforts to contain the wildfires in the border municipality of Bolyarovo continue. The partial state of emergency continues to be in place in 7 villages. The night was calm in the region of the big fire in the vicinity of the village of Voden, said regional governor Nikolay Kostadinov. After the efforts by firefighters, army personnel, border guards, forest rangers, farmers and volunteers, on Saturday the wildfire is expected to be contained. In a comment regarding the calls on social media for volunteers to join the efforts to extinguish the fires, Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov said: “Everyone is welcome to come, but I have a request – that when they come they work in coordination with the supervisors of the firefighters.”
