Sredets culture house in Sofia is marking its 50th anniversary with a string of musical events mottoed “Island of music”. The project, which is taking place with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, offers a stage to established as well as young professionals – singers and instrumentalists of different genres like jazz, swing, classical music, rock, pop, funk etc. Admission is free.
Tonight’s “Island of music” concert features the young musicians from Jupiter 7. They are part of the music academy Akaga which aims to help new talented artists. Having been together since their time at the music school in Sofia, the seven girls and boys from Jupiter 7 make music with elements of dance, reggae, funk and jazz. Two years ago they presented their debut single “How I long to”. In today’s Song of the Day we present their latest song – “The two of us”, the music and the lyrics are by Jupiter 7’s frontman Neo Kurtev and his father Krasi Kurtev, who is frontman of a popular Bulgarian band – Akaga.
