The Bulgarian team performed at an extremely high level during the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) in the city of Budapest, where 38 countries from all over the world participated. The Bulgarian team deservedly won silver medals.

This has been the best achievement of the Bulgarian students in this tournament since 2015, the Natural Sciences Olympic Teams Association reports. Achieving an impressive 9th place with a score of 190.9 points and surpassing the German team in the final round, the Bulgarian students secured the silver team medals.

The specific feature of this science competition is that it is held as a team and research scientific tasks are solved. The skills to defend one's ideas in a well-founded and structured manner during the so-called battles are also necessary criteria for evaluation.

The Bulgarian participants are 10th, 11th and 12th graders from high schools in Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Haskovo.
