Rowing: Desislava Angelova places 6th in skiff at Paris Olympics

Desislava Angelova came in sixth place in the skiff at the rowing competition at the Olympics in Paris.

Angelova, who is a first-timer at the Olympic Games, covered the distance of 2,000 m. in 7:33.19 minutes. She is the first Bulgarian female contestant at an Olympic rowing final in 16 years, after world record-holder Rumyana Neykova who triumphed in the same event in Beijing in 2008.

Winner in the event is Karolien Florijn, the Netherlands who clocked 7:17.28 min. followed by Emma Twigg, Asutralia and Victoria Senkute, Lithuania.

Earlier today, the other Bulgarian rowing contestant Kristian Vasilev qualified 14th in the skiff.
