The fire at a landfill in the village of Tsalapitsa near Plovdiv has been completely extinguished, but a team of fire-fighters with equipment remains there, Plovdiv Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov announced.

The air quality indicators in the city are good, according to the data of the two measuring stations of the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water. Therefore, the Regional Health Inspectorate cancelled the recommendations for wearing masks and limiting outdoor activities.

The news about the fires raging in other parts of the country are not so optimistic.

Fire fighting continues in the area of the village of Goleshovo in the Slavyanka mountain on the Bulgarian-Greek border and in the village of Senokos, municipality of Simitli. Fires are also burning in the Pirin and Vitosha mountains, as well as in Nevestino municipality.

Firefighters, military personnel, forest officials and volunteers are involved in combating the fires.
