Most unemployed people in Bulgaria do not have a professional qualification, the Employment Agency reports. For just a year, the number of people without special skills increased by 8% and is nearly 87 thousand.

The data also show that the unemployed with primary and lower education are more than 68,000, while about 36,000 people registered with the labor offices more than a year ago.

Against this backdrop, CITUB reported that over a thousand unemployed people were trained under the "Chance for green employment" project. The program, financed by the state budget and carried out in cooperation with 50 municipalities and medical institutions, is aimed at people with low education and no qualifications in areas with unemployment above the national average. They will be able to work in forestry, as caregivers and as social assistants for children and adults. Nearly 600 people who have successfully completed the training are to be provided with employment.
