Singer Stefan Ilchev and his homecoming to the city where he was born - Burgas

Going back to one’s roots is always an exciting endeavour, especially for artists. It is exciting for Stefan Ilchev – a young singer who has become popular with audiences in Burgas, the seaside city where he was born, but also nationally and even internationally – who is getting ready for a special concert he is giving, entitled Destination Burgas. On 10 August, in the open-air theatre in Burgas, Stefan Ilchev is going to make a comeback to the place where he was born, but he is also going to revisit all of the songs he has performed - in new arrangements. He says he is excited by the prospect of meeting audiences in the city of his birth but also because this concert is going to be a debut.

Destination Burgas will be, for me, an absolute debut as organizer, scriptwriter, director… I wanted to go through all of the steps, one by one, and to be solely responsible,” Stefan Ilchev said for Radio Bulgaria, and went on that choosing Burgas as the first stopover for this programme – the place where he had his professional debut – was an inevitability. On 10 August he is going to offer audiences a concert like no other, with guests who also have a bond with Burgas.

The concert features a song called Homecoming, composed especially for the Burgas and the Sea music contest more than 10 years ago. The music and the arrangement is by Eftim Chakarov, and the lyrics by Danna Donku.
