Though it was in the lead in the qualifications, the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics ensemble failed to earn any Olympic medals. Magdalina Minevska, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Margarita Vassileva made mistakes in the hoops, and put up a very good performance in three ribbons and two balls. Nevertheless, the ensemble came 4th, failing to earn any medals at the Paris Olympics. The Chinese team became champion, followed by the ensembles of Israel and of Italy.
