For the second time this year, the icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Golden Apple, considered miraculous for Orthodox Christians, will be exposed for worship in the town of Haskovo in Southern Bulgaria. This is announced by the Holy Metropolis of Plovdiv. The saint will be brought by Metropolitan Nicholas to the Holy Assumption of the Theotokos Cathedral  on August 13.

Within the framework of the Lent of the Theotokos, the bishop will celebrate the Prayer Canon of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The service is within the framework of the evening archdiocesan liturgies during the period of prayer and abstinence before August 15, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The icon is believed to cure women of infertility and help with many childhood illnesses. Its home is the church in the Gorni Voden district of Assenovgrad. In the 1765 Synaxarium of Hieromonk Ananius Klinis, the story of the miraculous conception of a woman who decorated the icon with an apple made of gold in gratitude is described, hence the name of the 17th century miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary -  "the Golden Apple".
