Rayna Mandzhukova, director of the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad awarded the Bulgarian newspaper in the UK BG BEN an honorary plaque on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the media outlet, for their active involvement in the life of the Bulgarian community, the Agency’s website writes.
Initially, BG BEN was targeted at Bulgaria’s potential as a tourist and business destination. In June, 2005, the paper changed format from a standard tabloid to a 32-page fortnightly edition. In November 2007, 8 Bulgarian pages were added and the circulation was increased.
Today, BG BEN is available in 100 locations in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Kent, Watford, Southampton and Stockport, free of charge.
