President Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, the press secretariat of the Bulgarian head of state reported. Presidents Radev and Herzog discussed aspects of the Middle East security situation, the possibilities for de-escalation of the military conflict in the region, as well as humanitarian issues, the statement said.
The phone call was held on the initiative of the Israeli head of State. The two presidents also spoke by phone at the beginning of April, BTA recalls.
